The SK pioneers traveled to Scott for the annual September Slam.    The first opponet was a rematch of Wednesday night  with a different outcome.   SK defeated Highlands -  25-15, 25-21.    The remaining games in Pool play were Newport - 25-5, 25-10 and Pendleton County 25-9, 25-10.   The pioneers finished first in their pool.    The first round of the Gold division had the SK against Tates creek.     The pioneers were able to avenge a previous lost in the Layfette Tournament to Tates Creek with a win  25-20, 25-21.    This set up the Championship match with Simon Kenton vs Scott.   The pioneers came out swinging and caught the Eagles on their heels.  They won the 1st game 25-20.   The Scott Eagles came back firing and SK was not able to hold on to the lead.  They lost the next two games 15-25, 11-25.  The pioneers will be ready for the Eagles  when the regular season match is played.     We can definetly play with them!!
